Sunlight Square.
A whole house renovation for a couple living in a 90’s east London apartment.
Eucalyptus was chosen for the wood as it has very subtle hints of pink which compliment the red fronts and won’t yellow in sunlight like other wood options.
The ying and yang of the front handles and hardware add a playful element, and selecting a complimentary red hue (versus an exact match) unifies the space without it feeling like its working too hard.
The symmetrical layout is largely determined by the architectural placement of the window and low stair wall, so positioning the taller cabinets along the back wall enabled the rest of the space to keep a lower and more open cabinet layout without compromising on sight line or storage.
