The new owners of this modest apartment in the heart of Islington sought to transform the interior into a space that reflects their British-Nigerian and Turkish heritage, alongside their love of hosting and entertaining. Essential elements of their brief captured this spirit perfectly: a wine rack, storage for cocktail spirits, and even the ability to convert the kitchen hatch into a DJ booth for dinner parties with friends.

Drawing on their passion for mid-century design, we paired cherry timber veneer fronts with contrasting walnut edging and integrated handles in our signature Straight-Pull style. A black base palette, formed by Dzek Marmoreal worktops and ExCinere floor tiles, creates depth and richness, while the marble chips within the worktop and accents of brown and orange tiles complement the warm timber tones, evoking the character of 1970s interiors.

In such a compact space, thoughtful planning was essential. Shallow drawers beneath the hatch provide valuable storage, while a bin system under the sink, a narrow spice and bottle pull-out, and pull-down shelving within the wall cabinets ensure the kitchen remains both practical and refined.

The result is a bold, adventurous kitchen realised through our Bespoke pathway, allowing us to respond to the clients’ precise needs while achieving their aesthetic ambitions.
