Grimwood, Twickenham.
This space, designed for a young family extending their home, needed to be highly functional and cost-effective to service their busy family life. While these characteristics are paramount in any family home, there is still plenty of room for character and a unique visual identity.
Light, bright and warm, the terracotta tones layer beautifully with the paired-back white laminate and white-stained ash to give balance and depth to the palette. The colour-matched Swarf Grayson handles add to these textures, providing a contemporary and practical balance to the integrated J Pull handles used elsewhere.
A few architectural constraints necessitated some carefully considered details as part of the layout. For instance, running the white laminate ‘L’ of cabinetry down to the level of the work surface neatly conceals a structural pillar behind. The wall-integrated fridge/freezer and shallow-depth storage & window seating in the dining area maintain adequate circulation.
