This Antwerp-inspired wraparound extension by Yard Architects references the white-glazed bricks and green mortar seen in a recent passive house development in the Flemish city.
The open-plan kitchen and dining area are bathed in natural light from a James Turrell-inspired circular roof light, with circular geometry a repeating motif throughout the project. The kitchen door handles, light fittings and column all continue this motif across the space.
A functional yet elegant kitchen, the splash of green of the island and integrated pantry cabinet tie the kitchen harmoniously to the facade. The kitchen is not without punch either, with the pantry hiding a hidden splash of pink.
